Tennis and Princess Mononoke

I played tennis today. I thought he'd actually teach me. But no. He just got a bucket of balls and did an easy forehand to me. And I hit the ball. It flew too far, but I hit it. I miss it sometimes... 10% of the time maybe. Sometimes I get the ball back to him some 10 times before one of us screws up. So I guess I'm okay for a beginner. I was worried I wouldn't be able to hit the ball at all. Hahaha but I'm decent enough to enjoy the game -- cooperatively, not competitively, hahaha :D

But there, tennis requires lungs. And legs. And ass. They're all feeling it right now. Hahaha

I love this sport. Now if only it didn't cost 260 everytime I played...

I watched Princess Mononoke. It was the highlight of my day. Humans. And their iron empires... What are we doing? Really, what are we doing?

If you haven't watched the said movie, watch it. And while you're at it, read Heidegger's "The Question Concerning Technology."

I've read in order of lovability:

1) What is Metaphysics // Intro to WM // Postscript to WM (in Pathmarks)
2) Letter on Humanism (in Pathmarks)
3) Contributions to Philosophy: From Enowning (Book, haven't finished, but excellent)
4) Way to Language (Book, haven't finished)
5) Essence of Truth (in Pathmarks and Basic Writings)
6) Poetry, Language and Thought (but you've read this na right?)
7) Introduction to Metaphysics (if you like the whole why is there something rather than nothing question)
8) Basic concepts (this book is not fun)
9) The Essence of Human Freedom (easy)
10) Being and Time (The part we did not read is the best part [on temporality, etc] but is still painful to read)
11) What is Called Thinking (or What Calls for Thinking -- the essay is excellent. The book even more so. I forgot about this one.)
12) Discourse on Thinking (but you've read this one.)

The ones I really recommend are 1,2,3,4,11,12. They're wonderful. 11 is really funny if you wanna see heid poke at the sciences, hehehe
